Crossover Chaos has always been top dog in the fanfiction crossover universes, and here's how I've pictured it all this time: Crossover Chaos > Any other crossover universe > Canonical universes

Judging by most crossover universes being more powerful then the canon because the SCU guys said so, I also note Crossover Chaos is more powerful then even that, being, as the worldbuilding says: "The temporally original fanfiction universe due to a 'contest' between Arceus and other gods."

I also mess with other fanfiction's worldbuilding to benefit Crossover Chaos in this, as, technically, Arceus is Crossverse's, but there's also pieces shoved elsewhere into him, and he just lets the Colmares do whatever they want. I also note the characters of Crossover Chaos can use The Meta, a Metafictional Power more powerful then any other, so, per se, Valo could manipulate the Words (PPC term but it means something different in Crossover Chaos) to make... idk, J.D. Knudson from Loud House Revamped and Wolfblade from Guardian-Verse fight to the death or something.

(Because that's a thing villains do)

PPC, in its own way, is low on powerscaling, and it seems no Agent can handle the Words in the way the Crossover Chaos characters can.

Basically, yes, I'm respecting other people's fanfiction in a way only a schizophrenic brainiac can, morphing it to my own whims.

crossoververse gripes:

- vice-verse's "the end" event

- crossverse's arceus, salem, team SCAR, that anti-event ppl that are being Alluded to

- solarverse in general (solarflare and umpkin especially)

the reasoning is that these all go against ccboot canon and its planned storyline

there's also non-crossoververse gripes like:

- legends of the multi-universe

- chaosemperor971 + hollowtaker's shinjiverse

- ppc/acsmes/things all in the same vein

- all twitter fanmade spiderverse content

and that in the ccboot, ALL of these being wiped out is a ccboot Canon Event and so is every other fancontent not listed here essentially 'bending the knee' to cc's plot

(this post takes liberties with the following canons to fit the CC AU and its worldbuilding:

Saint Seiya, Getter Robo, Miraculous Ladybug, with a bit of Head 1968 thrown in there)

---

Cosmo and Magery are two different sides of the same coin.

Cosmo is also known as Ki, and it's necessary to power the Cloths, which are pieces of armor created from stardust, orichalon, gammadium, which is related to Getter Rays, and usually, bronze, silver or gold.

It grants the being that it has willed itself to, more powerful versions of their abilities, PLUS the use of up to four extra senses.

Intuition, Miraculousity, Stasis, which allows the Cloth user to travel between life and death, and the Big Will, which is basically reality-warping.

(Fun fact: In CC, the Meta and the Box are artificial ways to try and harness the Big Will that went wrong.)

Cloths were also the first attempt to harness aspects of the Exoverse, too, but that was later perfected in the Miraculous Jewelry.

Both Cloths and Miraculouses are sentient, and can go against their bearer's will if they detect something wrong.

The Meta is 'Cosmo' (lab-made) merged with the will to control Totality (thus why Valo's... like That)

The Box is 'Cosmo' (also lab-made) merged with the will to make money and control humanity into spending it.

Meta and the Box are linked heavily in CC, and since the Big Will/Ninth Sense is reality-warping, and Meta + Box are that but Wrong, that's why you get a lot of visual glitchery and film distortion/meltery with it, to show they're both the Big Will corrupted, artificially, to serve the darkest of humanity's needs.

People sometimes compare Crossover Chaos (at least the Mike era) to contemporary 80s homages like 'Stranger Things' and its ilk, and I understand that, but I think it's more then just the older media it uses and is inspired by.

Here's an analysis of it by one of its creators.

---

CROSSOVER CHAOS, WHAT IS IT?

Crossover Chaos is a megacrossover written by me and Jess (CashewStar) since March 2011. It is the story of the Colmare Chosen (it changes throughout the story, but it's currently the 60s boyband The Monkees), as they fight stronger and stronger enemies, to keep the peace in Totality (our world, all of fiction, and that includes all of fanfiction!).

It is inspired by 80s, 90s and 00s media, mostly 'toyetic' shows from those eras, like fighting shonen (the biggest inspirations being Saint Seiya and the Dragon Ball franchise), magical girl shows (ESPECIALLY Pretty Cure), as well as sitcoms, Marvel (multiverse stuff, those quips the characters make!), and meme culture.

It is considered, as a fanfiction, a comedy/action/drama, with aspects of horror (but tbh those horror bits are a little kinky sometimes tbfh ;3).

It is often compared to, inaccurately, to Pooh's Adventures and Loud House Revamped, but it would be more accurately described as 'If Mahou Kaiju (or Sam Imbecile's ideas in general) was a trolled-like starring the Monkees'.

So basically, in the same genre as Tails gets Trolled, Scoob and Shag and its ilk, except it taking itself way more (but not entirely) seriously throughout more of the story.

---

THE MIKE ERA, VALO AND THE MONKEES

The Monkees, in Crossover Chaos, are the main focus of this journal.

The core of this story, as a whole, is trauma, and recovery, as well as a thing most people on social media hate in stories nowadays, redemption.

All the characters in the story have some sort of emotional baggage, including our main, recurring big bad, Valo.

Valo, in the story, is often behind most of the problems in the story, as he lashes out against everything he hates destructively, and since he's massively powerful, this causes havoc on the characters, the setting, and the story itself. Sometimes, other people's stories, too!

Valo was a person that got isekai'd from our world. He wanted to escape his boring life, for fantasy, and be at peace with himself, bringing Calico and his wife along.

As Valo's story progressed, he became clingy to Calico, to the point of erasing his wife from existence, and forcing Calico to be his lover. (Yandere, much?)

Calico fell for it, until he broke from the narrative, and escaped Valo's grasp, now hellbent on permanently killing what used to be his best friend.

Which brings us to the Monkees, our heroes.

The Mike era of Crossover Chaos borrows part of the narrative from Head (1968), and brings that together with Valo's pre-established story.

Head is a story about the Monkees, who, at the time, felt trapped in their roles on their show, and wanted to torch all that and be free, thus the metaphors of 'The Box', also borrowed for the story.

---

THE RULES OF THE BOX, AND THE COLMARE CHOSEN

The Box, in Crossover Chaos, is less metaphorical, and more like an eldritch entity that guides the Monkees, harming them more then helping. Valo has some control of it, as do the Colmares, the gods of the setting.

To them, The Box is a game of chess. Move the pieces, see which side wins.

The Box has some rules that it has given the Monkees, though they will never know it:

- 'Never being free', aka no eternal rest, no peace, and always being stuck in a 'role'.

- Always being 'used' for something, by something. Whether that is to move products, or to be the chosen ones, they are always being used, and thrown away before being recycled, per se, and used again.

- Davy and Peter can never be together, at least not permanently. It's part of Peter's desires, but they shall never be. If Davy gets Peter, Davy will push Peter away somehow.

As well, The Box grants them powers based on the first point. They die before their job is done? Instant reincarnation.

Which brings us to their jobs.

Being the Colmare Chosen.

The roles have changed every generation of Chosen, and their success has hinged on how well they fit their roles.

The previous generation was the Aquarion Logos (Kaz), Chaoslight (Socks), and Deathblade (Elaine).

They did not succeed at bringing around permanent peace, as Socks never took his role seriously, Elaine was busy trying to get her life (and gender identity) in order, and Kaz died tragically and horrifically.

Thus, the Colmares fought fire with fire, isekai'ing four individuals.

The Monkees.

SONGBIRD, SING YOUR WORRIES TO ME (DAVY JONES)

Davy is the Brinysoul, the Chosen of Water, the bearer of the Blue Diamond. She is the smart one of the group, the one who tells Mike when and why he's wrong, and the one he often listens to, his shoulder angel, his second in comnand.

She, in his first life as a male, was the heartthrob, the center of attention, the star. And now, in her current one, she feels feelings of inadequency because of that, and can't let go of that fact.

She often spirals into suicidal depression because of that, and often has trouble processing that people do indeed care for her, and don't just treat her as a pretty face.

She is, basically, a broken bird, one that will never sing unless she has to.

She doesn't know who she is anymore, has no faith in herself, and usually takes a backseat.

She think she's useless, but people love her, and she needs to be shown love and care to be the best she can be.

---

NUMB THE PAIN, SO IT DOESN'T GET YOU (PETER TORK)

Peter is the Naturechild, the Chosen of Earth, the bearer of the Green Club. He is the heart, the glue, the faith of the group, as well as the healer. He is the sweet, pure one of the group, the one who tells the others to care for others.

He, in his first life, was the bass player, often abused, typecast as the 'dummy', the 'clown'. And now, in his current one, he tries to break from that narrative, as he is more serious and intelligent then that.

He has the strongest core of the four, but is the weakest everywhere else. He tries not to let it get to him, but sometimes, his cracks and trauma show through.

He knows the others depend on him and Mike, but Peter doesn't know how much more he can take.

He just wants inner peace. And peace of mind. Maybe then, he can be okay.

---

LAUGH AT THE HORRORS YOU FACE, EVEN IF IT KILLS YOU (MICKY DOLENZ)

Micky is the Mistralheart, the Chosen of Wind, the bearer of the Purple Heart. She is the mechanic, the comic relief, the one who focuses on the goal ahead, the problem solver. She's the one who gets Mike to where he needs to be, his rock, his stability in hard times. This is why they are in a relationship in this story.

She, in her first life, as a man, was the goofy drummer, the silly one, the last one left in the end. Her life is cut shorter then her IRL self, as she ends her life, in the CC version of this world, as a missing person case, never to be found.

And now, in her current life, she tries to keep the others from killing each other, and think positively, and maybe, earn that eternal peace that's forever out of their reach.

She builds the things the other three need to win against the enemy of the week, and is much smarter then she lets on.

She loves Mike, and is forever loyal to him, and will always stay by his side, no matter what.

She is not perfect, and she knows that.

She wants to make sure everything works out okay for all four of them...

...Even if Valo doesn't want that.

---

EVEN THE LIGHT YOU FOLLOW THINKS YOU'RE A PLAYTHING (MIKE NESMITH)

Mike is the Phoenixshard, the Chosen of Fire, the bearer of the Teal Spade. He is the leader, the muscle, the protagonist that this era all centers around. The one who gets it done, the revolutionary, the hero who is supposed to win it all. Put into the role of a 'fighting shonen' protagonist, but with more doubt in himself and his abilities and capabilities then most.

He, in his first life, was the guitarist, the one who made all the decisions, and made the most trouble. He made things both better and worse for the group, a double-edged sword.

He, in his current life, is stuck in a role too big for himself, a role he has to grow into, but is too stubborn to accept. He is actively trying to reject his role as the protagonist, but he knows he will doom everything if he does.

He is stuck in his self loathing, his trauma, his actions from his past life, things he has to leave behind, change, and unlearn.

And maybe, then, when he finally does, he can bring everything all together.

Just like it's meant to be.

---

PLEASE PUT YOUR FAITH IN ME, ALL FOUR OF US (AFTERWORD)

So, what is the moral of Crossover Chaos' Mike Era?

It's simple, really.

Don't get caught up in things you can't control, change them instead, but don't fall victim to its aftereffects.

This is inspired by all the infighting in fandoms, and the LGBT community, to look at themselves in the mirror, stop harming others, and start going for real change, not more hate.

It doesn't matter what you are, just be nice.

And maybe, we can have a better, actually ideal society that benefits everyone and everything.
